Mensaje de Michael Frenzel en WTTC 13th Global Summit

Today we say goodbye to our friends in Abu Dhabi with gratitude in our hearts for their warmest of welcomes and exceptionally high levels of hospitality and service. Thank you once again to the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and Etihad Airways for your wonderful support.

I would also like to thank all our speakers and panelists for their extremely interesting and informative contributions to our business sessions over the past two days. There is no doubt that we will leave here with greater insight into the challenges facing our industry now and in the future, and what action we, as leaders in our field, need to take to ensure Travel & Tourism continues to flourish worldwide.

I personally will reflect on the message which President Bill Clinton conveyed during his address – that Travel & Tourism is a force for good in rebuilding economies after a major disaster or conflict.

Thank you also to all of you, our delegates, for participating in this Summit. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to be here. We have enjoyed each other’s company and the opportunity to share our views and experiences.

We are delighted that in September of this year, our first Asia Summit will take place in Seoul in South Korea. We hope to see many of you there, where the issues and opportunities facing the world’s most dynamic Travel & Tourism economies will be debated under the theme “Staying Ahead of Tomorrow”

As you have just heard, in April 2014, WTTC will journey to China for our 14th Global Summit. We look forward to seeing you all inSanya in the province of Hainan, and to experiencing China’s only tropical coastal resort which is rapidly growing as a tourism destination.

In the meantime, however, as David has said, there is much work to be done as individually and collectively we continue to champion the cause of the Travel and Tourism industry.

I wish you all a safe onward journey and farewell, “auf wiedersehn” until we meet again.

Frenzel, Chairman, World Travel & Tourism Council and Chairman of the Supervisory Boards, TUI Deutschland GmbH and TUIfly
